The roof is gold
After a good nights rest at the Innsbruck Hostel, we grabbed a quick breakfast and headed out to see the sights. First stop was the city center, where we bought some transit passes and got info on the city’s highlights. We then jumped on the sightseer bus and learned a little about this mid-evil town. The bus dropped us off at the Alpine Zoo. We opted to skip seeing the animals since we were pressed for time. The bus driver pointed us in the direction of a trail that would take us up to the gondolas. On hour later we made it to the top (it would have been quicker to take a bus up!). The Austrian people must be in pretty good shape because a 70-year-old nun passed us on the way up! When we got to the top, we showed our passes and loaded on to the lift. The gondola took us a mile up in elevation in just a few minutes. The view was great on the ride up. When we reached the top, we hiked around for about an hour, checking out what the other side of the mountains looked like. I was amazing how jagged

these Alps are. We headed back down the mountain, ate a quick bite, and headed for the car.

We left the city of Innsbruck and started for Munich. The drive took us a little over two hours and we reached our couch surfing hosts house. Ingo Stiefler was our host for the Munich area. He lived about 20 minutes North of Munich in a small village called Massenhausen . We hit it off great with Ingo, he is a very friendly and informative man. Ingo showed us to our room and invited us in to the kitchen for a beer. The kitchen smelt great because he was cooking a traditional Bavarian stew for his mother’s birthday. We chatted for a bit and Ingo wanted to take us to a true Bavarian beer garden, so we headed off. The beer garden that we went to was voted the nicest beer garden in Bavaria. We drank a beer and had some dinner. After dinner Ingo showed us the local sight including a parish that the current Pope started at. When we reached the house, Ingo filled us in on all the highlights of Munich, he even supplied us with maps. It
