there's a strange truck that drives around town with what looks like advertisements on the signs with a loudspeaker blaring. we don't know what we are but we joke that they're the thought police, telling everyone what to think! i they're ghetto thai advertising though...

we asked our favourite server at apple's restaurant (the restaurant at the guesthouse we're staying at) her name today and it's yui (yoo-wee. she's so cute! we want to give her one of our canada flag patches that we have.

today we rented bikes and rode to wat tham khao pun. it's in a cave, and is infamous as where a drug addicted monk killed a british tourist in 1995 and dumped her body in a nearby sinkhole. creepy! it was a really creepy cave, so i can't even imagine how scary it would be to be murdered in it!!

also, during WWII the japanese stores weapons and quipment in the caves, and imprisoned and tortured prisoners of war.

cave was very muddy, almost fell over several times. two people were drilling cement or something inside, which killed the mood a bit.

we were so sweaty by the time we got there! kim's bike broke (or became suddenly lacking in grease so the handle bars wouldn't turn) right as we got there. the nice men who heard us creaking up fixed it for her while we were inside!

today i was the most sun-safe i have been in years. covered up really well AND wore spf45 AND wore my ugly sunhat, which i've dubbed UH (for ugly hat).

we also went to the chung kai allied war ceremony on the way to the cave. the bike ride back was very peaceful, nice and flat here, easy riding. not like at home.

hosed ourselves down when we got back, so sweaty!

went for fabulous lunch at an indian place. SO GOOD! ordered six dishes between us, spendt 710 baht, we normally spend about 200-300B between us for a meal! it was really good though. so full. kim got garlic-stuffed nans and is still suffering (as am i), but the mosquitos have left us alone. unfortunately, my bed is down-fan from hers.

we almost went straight into a food coma in the restaurant! came home and it looked like it was going to rain, so we changed into our bathing suits.

ran around yelling and laughing in the torrential downpour! everyone laughed and probably thought we were crazy. we put our sunglasses on too so we could see better. as we were frollicking, our room door blew closed and we got locked out! had to ask apple to let us back in. (so we had to walk in front of all the staff and several guests hehe). had a great time!

have discovered fabulous banana shakes, so good!

geckos make funny noises, i will try and record it.
