well, i chose not to go anywhere last weekend. i spent it indoors sans roommate for the most part, studying everything i have learned this past semester, watching unhealthy amounts of television, and watching the earth dry up from the torrential rains that ruled the south of france for most of last week. sure, this means my yard turned into a sticky lake, as you can see in the photos. you just need to be creative about how you walk. as the rain cleared last friday, i found myself in the stands for a beach volleyball tournament which was taking place downtown. it captured my interest for well over an hour, and i found myself picking favorites: see man in red shirt. really, though, i haven't done much else. i am preparing to leave next wednesday, focusing on memorizing my studies, trying to eat up all that i can on my countertop, and enjoying my sweatshirt which arrived in the mail from home. tom and i have made most of our reservations for our vacation, and he will be here in eight days. i will post another update on monday if i can, although i will have three finals that will take me from 9am until 4pm that day. so this is perhaps my last montpellier blog. the rest of the pictures shown here are from my morning today, just until noon. there isn't much special here, i am waiting to move on... salut from this sunny spot!

i think that man in the red shirt is quite the volley-baller, but he's got nothing on me and the mad skill i showed in ninth grade gym class
