Wales got a lots of castles built as early as middle ages for the fortification purpose. I have visited Cardiff Castle and Caerphilly Castle.

Caerphilly Castle

Caerphilly Castle, a medieval castle, was the biggest castle in Wales.

Carpealily Castle

The scale of its water defences is scarcely rivalled anywhere in Europe.

Cardiff Castle

Located in the heart of city, Cardiff Castle gives the distinctive icon to Cardiff.

Cardiff Castle - Norman Keep

Cardiff Castle has been dwelled until 1940s. In 2000, it was refurbished and opened to public. Norman Keep, used to be the defence and prison for the eldest son of William the conquror in Normandy period.
