Elaine and I spent the night at the largest hostel in San Jose. It claims there is always room. Well, seems it was full last night, luckily after we arrived. The guide book says it has a glorified college dorm atmosphere. It does complete with rowdy, drunk Chilieans who talked and laughed by the pool under early in the morning. Too bad my room had a window overlooking the pool. It was loud! Then, about 4:00 one of the 6 other people in the room left. This caused another girl to constantly sigh and turn. It wasn't worth sleeping anymore so at 5:30 I'm writing this message. We are off to Bocas del Toro Panama today. The bus leaves at 6:30.

Right on the head
I stayed at Backpackers and had the same sleepless nights because of all the noise. And a pool? San Jose isn't warm. What a waste. I checked out after two nights, went to a place called Cas Los Yoses, in a way better neighborhood and close to UCR and El Cuartel, but they were full. So they sent me 3 houses down to Hostel Bekuo. By far the nicest hostel I have ever stayed in, almost like a hotel and the same price as Backpackers. Michelle, one of the owners is the most beautiful Tica there is as well. Ditch backpackers and stay at Bekuo or Cas Los Yoses. www.hostelbekuo.com
