Hey Everyone!

How are you all doing? We're great, but we'll admit that it's been awhile since we've added a blog, and now that Danny's here for a visit AND we're going to China in a few days, we realized that we better get this site up to date. So, this is a short blog from almost a month ago...a day where we spent the afternoon admiring the beautiful cherry blossoms and celebrating our friend Kim's birthday!

We headed to one of the most popular places to see the cherry blossoms - Yeouido Park! Yeouido Park is right along the Han River, and with the lovely weather we were having this day, made the entire park look very picturesque. There were street vendors set up selling all sorts of food and snacks, as well as professional photographers catching the moment. The only negative thing about the whole afternoon was catching whiffs of the silkworm snacks simmering in open pots along the street. Koreans love eating these silkworms out of little paper cups as they stroll, but we had to hold our breath everytime we passed them just to keep from gagging!!

The main highlight of the day, however, was going to my now-favorite restaurant in Korea - Mad For Garlic! Here, our friends Yumi and Oriana joined us, and we had a very nice birthday-celebration dinner for Kim. The food was excellent and we had a cake too! Finally, the night ended with a BANG (literally) when we set some fireworks off in the bathroom to scare Oriana. Hehe.

Well, that's all for now folks! Please stay tuned for our next blog about our weekend in Jindo for the infamous "Sea-Parting Festival"...followed by Danny's visit in Korea and our trip to China (4 cities in 12 days!) Talk to you soon...

Love,
Larry & Melanie
