For Carnival, Darren, Ian, Pierre, Emily and I decided to go to CANOA! Its an amazing beach in the Manabi province. We took a bus from Quito to San Vicente (8 hours) and from there got a ride in the back of a truck to Canoa (30 minutes), which is a little north of San Vicente. Canoa is, BY FAR, my favorite beach in Ecuador, mostly because everyone is so chilled out but also because the beach is gorgeous and big, there is a lot of beautiful sand and lets not forget the sweet ass rocky caves at the very end of the beach.
Usually Canoa is very "tranquilo", BUT because it was Carnival everyone was at the beach, so Canoa was pretty packed. There were NO hostals, so we were forced to tent, which we planned before we left, cuz we knew there were no hostals. It was OK during the day, but very annoying at night. (No light and a lot of moskitoes).
So we adopted "BAMBU", the hostal/restaurant, AKA PARADISE, next to where we were camping as our second home! We ate every meal there and chilled out on the hammocks when we were not
on the beach. Im pretty sure everyone who worked there though we were staying over so we had no problems chilling out there or using their facilities. We were there so much, that we felt the need to purchase some Bambu shirts to match the workers! haha ok we had a little to drink before we did!
So all in all, we had a pretty chilled out weekend on the beach in ECUADOR, SOUTH AMERICA(We have to remind ourselfs sometimes, eh Ian?)
