So after leaving asia behind i head on down to the land of Oz and Perth. My first day didnt go well coz i never booked a place to stay before i arrive coz that is unheard of in asia....big mistake. It took me about 5 hours to find a place and visits to 15 backpacker places and two nights wortj of accomodation in a taxi. I actually went back to the first hostel i visited out of desperation to see if someone had freed up a bed since i had been there last and to great relief someone had checked out 5 minutes before. Now i knew there were alot of irish in australia but i could not believe how many were here. Every place i visited there were only irish accents. It was madness, you would get so many irish on O'Connell street! I finally setled down into a romm with 11 other people sleeping in it and konked out knackered from the searching.

Next day i headed out to see what was around the place. Perths a really nice and clean city along the river with lots of shops and parks.....a bit of everything really. But it
Perth
was a bit quiet to be honest. On the weekend it picked up and i went to a cool little town called Freemantle with Andy and Chris who where in my dorm too. But otherwise i felt Perth lacked a bit of a kick. Its a great city to live a relaxed family kind of life but thats not for me just yet and to be honest for the first week i was missing the asia life alot and probably not giving perth a fair chance. Also the price difference was a right kick in the balls and took a long time to get used to. Having said all that i had some nice days visiting freemantle and perths huge kings park. On the sunday we headed to a bar, which was packed, along the cost and had a BBQ there while watching the sunset which was a great day too.

One of the cool things about travelling Oz is the backpacker places. You really do meet some great characters in hostel you stay in and there is never a dull moment in the comunal area of the hostels were there is always people chatting, drinking and having the
Perth
craic. I spent a week in perth which was nice. I should have maybe done a bit more travelling outside of the city where i have been told there are some amazing sights and landscapes but i just hung around the city and tried to fit in to the oz way of life........
