This is my last night in Hanoi off tomorrow to Hong kong to get flight to Cairns.
have had an amaziing week if the rest of my adventure is a good I shall be well amd truly on top of the world.
On sat &sunday went up to Ha Long Bay and had a boat trip stayed overnight Ha Long
Bay is part of The Gulf of Tolken ,in the bay is 2000 un inhabited Islands only 900 have been named ,we saw one that remindedus of a camel with it's chin on the ground so we decided to call it "Camel Island.during the cruise they took usto Monkey Cave or Surprise Cave choose your preference.it was discovered in 1923.The cave is 9000 sq metres in size a real labrinthe
the humidity way up in the 90's ,lost a t least 3 kilos,when I have mastered this blog thing I'll put some pics on
yesterday decided the best way to cover more ground ,see more things hired a Moped driver
I sit on the back ,it's amazing how quickly you get
used toall the traffic whizzing
past ,coming straight at you,manage to see if from a distance Ho Che Min's Tomb ,also
The Infamous "Hanoi Hilton" as the yanks called it Originally built by the French way back in the 19th century as the most secure prison in the whole of Vietnam and used to hold,torchure ,exicute political prisoners, a very grim place.
they were shackledjust like the the prisoners who were transported toAustralia in the 18th century,confined to rooms2 metres square in the dark starved to create mental torture.
ironically it now a tourist attraction.
have had some splendid food a terrific prices.

managed to get on the blogs and found your stuff. I have only one comment - I'm green with envy. Never been to Vietnam but it is definitely on the ever increasing list of places to see. I note you have a comment from James Robbins - please say hello to him from me next time you are in touch. Also give my best to Paul. I haven't spoken to him since you were last in the UK.
