Rock concert lights blazing at stalagmites...can it get any cooler than this?!
This entry is a bit late (though the date will lead you to believe otherwise, hehe). I couldn't miss the chance of showing you the amazing photos from Reed Flute Cave. It was hard picking only a handful of photos to post here, we snapped over 150 and they are all fantastic.

Within the cave all the formations, stalagmites and stalactites, are lit up with different colored neon flourescent lights. It makes for an amazing scene.

The actual "tour" of the cave was a bit disappointing. You wait at the entrance for a large enough group to form and then are led through (by a Chinese tour guide, of course). Not wanting to listen to the commentary in Chinese we hung behind the group to take some pics on our own and go through at our own pace. After a couple snaps of the first "room" the lights on the formations all shut off! We hurried through to the next formation, only to have the exact same thing happen! We realized that the guides carry a little key card which they pass over a box to activate the lights. So we were stuck having to troop through with the

This is probably my most favorite photo from inside the cave. A perfect reflection of the lights and formations in a pond. Beautiful!
group.

The tour ended quickly and we didn't feel we got our 60RMB each out of it, so instead of exiting we turned around and walked back through to the beginning and went through again. Twice actually. It was a rather surreal environment. If any of you remember "Fraggle Rock" the television show from when we were kids...we imagine it looked something like this.

Enjoy the pics! We are now in Yangshuo and I have an entry pending on the wonders of yet another cave we experienced yesterday. Hang tight!!

Love to the home-boys...

This was the last "formation" in the cave. The large orange rock looks like a lion, so they gave it the aforementioned title.

Erin or Hulk?

That sure looks like Erin...but the green skin...could it be Hulk?? Perhaps Erin morphs into Hulk when she enters the cave, mwuhahahahahaha.
