Hope Bay & Esperanza Station
Hope Bay on Trinity Peninsula, is 3 miles long and 2 miles wide, indenting the tip of Antarctic Peninsula and opening on Antarctic Sound. The present Argentine Base (Esperanza) was established in 1952. The video begins early in the morning as we sail into Hope Bay. We get a fantastic up-close look at Esperanza Station. There are countless icebergs floating in the water. The beauty of the area can not be described. The sun was shining brightly on Mount Flora which rises behind the research station.
