My girlfriend and myself will be arriving in Ecuador on November the first and our keen to experience all the country has to offer.
We feel the best way to do this is to spend an extended amount of time with local people to learn their culture and language, a volunteering experience would give us this opportunity.
Any information you could give us would be gratefully received Reply to this

You can check with the office of INNFA in Quito, Ecuador. They do extensive volunteer programs with the local villages in and around Quito, and actually all over the country. Their headquarters is in Quito. If you are intereted, I can put you in touch with their office.

My advise is to look for random opportunities while traveling. You'd be surprised what you'll find if you're constantly looking. While in Sorata (Bolivia), my girlfriend and I walked into a school and asked if we could help out. They were very appreciative, and we had a great time teaching the kids English.
Best of luck!

Hello,
On your arrival to Quito.
Pay a visit to the South American Explorers Club. They ve got a full list of Volunteer Opportunities with feedback from previous volunteer.
I warned on other forum about the Foundation statue in Ecuador. Setting a Foundation in Ecuador is quite common for Money Laundry, tax relief, government grant (national or international)...so sometimes Foundation are not really doing much for the community but more for the "Founder". Reply to this
