Can anybody gives us any advice on "personal property" insurance?
18 years ago, October 2nd 2005 No: 1 Msg: #2778
Hello again

Looking for another piece of advice... I´d like to take my new SLR digital camera travelling with me - have tried getting used to a smaller, less "flashy" one but it just doesn´t work for me, I know I´ll miss my SLR if I leave it behind!

Trouble is, no matter how much I was prepared to pay for an insurance policy that would cover it in case it gets stolen or damaged, no insurance company will actually offer you a decent amount of cover for personal property. The maximum amount they cover for a valuable item is just a small fraction of the value of the camera...

I know the sensible advice would be to just not take anything so valuable with me but... I really want to, so would like to know whether anybody knows of an insurance I may be able to take out separately from my travel insurance just to cover the valuables.

Thanks in advance!
