LDR's are hard because you live so far apart and what you have in a "normal relationship" like seeing the other person everyday is not there (i'm not an expert in relationships being a divorced man, so take what i say with a grain of salt ),and eventually one person has to make a permanent relocation .
Hey does your ex want to "adopt me" ,i wouldn't mind if he paid for my tickets to London 😊
I have heard so much bad news from the new terminal five in London that opened i am nervous about travelling through there especially with people not getting thier luggage ,so wearing the same pair of clothes for a month on my holiday doesn't appeal to me too much 😊

HaHa. I think my ex wont adopt u. He will have adopted somebody more like me by now.
There are clothes stores in London. U would not end up wearing the same clothes for a month. I had my bag lost by an airline last year. They are pretty good at finding them. I had it back the next day. When they lost it they gave me a packet with shampoo, T shirt etc in it. I was sligtly worried that they might not find my bag but more happy that somebody was going to deliver it to the hostel because I was going out all night that night and not getting to the hostel until the next morning and carrying the bag around all night would have been a pain. :D

I know i thought it was worth a try ,i'm a cheapskate and i like to save a few bucks not buying plane tickets ..LOL..
With all of the bad news coming from Heathrow about the piles of bags waiting to rejoin thier owners i wish i could fly through another terminal at Heathrow besides T-5 ,i'm getting a bit nervous at this point because it is not too far away .
You got a toothbrush and a t-shirt for your ordeal ,sheesh all i got was some rude employee at Olympic airways in Greece when my bags were lost ,i had to wait almost nine days to be reunited with my backpack i tell you that was the happiest moment when the taxi driver delivered my bag to me ,felt like i won the lottery 😉
I just hope all of this mess gets sorted out soon ,or British airways is going to loose alot of business and have a bad reputation and deal with more angry passengers ..*sigh*

HaHa, if I had to wait 9 days I would just tell them to keep the bag at the airport and I will pick it up on my way out of the country. Looking on the bright side which is not all that bright, at least it would save me from carrying a bag around for a week.:D

I flew from London to Entebbe in Uganda with a few suitcases and a holdall. When I arrived in Entebbe I forgot to pick up my holdall! I didn't realise until the next day and I was by then 100 miles away in the bush! The holdall wasn't locked and had lots of medicines and other goodies in it (yes, I know I was being cavalier in the extreme!). I phoned the airport and they confirmed they had the holdall and I could come and pick it up. Now Uganda doesn't have the best reputation in the world when it comes to a lack of corruption, so I fully anticipated that there would be little left in the bag. When I eventually got there some days later I was amazed that everything in the bag was untouched and the Ugandan staff couldn't have been more helpful. I was touched....! Reply to this

WE missed our flight from LA to australia (via taiwan) and my husband's bag went without us. Since it was summer, flights booked solid, a typhoon in taiwan (we could get to taiwan no problems, but not conecting to australia) it was the end of our holiday - ie we had NO money, and our kids were at home (poor babysitters ) subsequently we had to stay in the US for an extra 9 days - we no lugguge... we got out the credit card and went and bought my hubby some new clothes.

and of course you guessed it - after 9 flights of putting clothes in our carry ons' - or each others clothes in our bags, this was meant to be our flight home, so we didnt take any ussual precautions!! HA HA so there are things you can do to stop having no clothes Reply to this

I was flying from London to Guatemala. My bag got mixed up in LA and was sent to El Salvadore instead. By the time I got my luggage back, I had missed the start of an overland tour which I had booked. I caught up with them two days later by hitching with the locals, and riding in the back of pickup trucks, covered in dust.

But whilst getting off the plane in LA, a SWAT team burst on board with balaclavas and machine guns. They stormed down the plane and dragged off some guy. "Welcome to America" I thought. As I was getting off the plane, I mentioned to my mate that we had an eight-hour layover in LA. Two guys overheard us, and offered to play host for a few hours. They lived at Venice Beach, and we caught a taxi with them . They bought a case of beer, a bag of tacos, and invited all their mates from the local bar. They had a really cool caravan in their garden, which was silver, shiny, and looked like it belonged in a 70's movie set. We partied with them for five hours, then got back on the plane to Guatemala. But before we got on the plane, they said "are you flying with American Airlines?" We said yes, and they said we should look in the in-flight magazine. Low and behold, the in-flight magazine had a special feature on 70's caravans. And these two dudes were in there with their caravan, full photos! However, our hopes were dashes when we reached Guatemala and our luggage didn't.... Reply to this

HI
This happened one month ago in India. When I was coming back to Delhi by train from a weekend trip in Jodhpur (Rajasthan), someone took ALL my belongings!!
I was in the usual sleeper class with my friend. My purse and backpack were around me but, unfortunately, I didn't have a chain -which by the way I need to buy soon- . We took the night train on sunday, hoping to arrive to Delhi around 6.30 am. I usually sleep the whole trip, at least that is what I have done for the last four months that I've been in India. But that day, I just slept 3 hours. When I woke up around 5 am, I wanted to brush my teeth and ...OH surprise!! there was no brush, tooth paste, backpack or purse. Nothing. I only had left: my glasses, the mobile in my hands and the clothes I was wearing. Ushh and the worst nightmare for a traveler> my passport was in the purse. I know, I'm not supposed to take it along and I do not do that. But the day before, I had to take it to a bank and didn't have time to take it back to office or home.

What could be worst than that? HAving lost my keys. My friend lend me some money to go home but wtf!! I had to wait over 5 hours for my landlord to open my bedroom and mistakenly, he took the keys with him ...as I went to work, when i arrived home again that night I had to sleep in d improvised living room.

And, the passport? In 4 hours, the Colombian embassy issued me a new one. However, indian inmigration system is not as efficient as you would want thus it took me 3 painful weeks to get again my visa. As a single, young woman in India I found some difficulties to get my papers. But, I was surprised by how much influece my clothes could have with the people I was dealing with. In case -I hope never- this happens to you, show yourself very respectful, wear kurtis, keep your voice tone calm and be patient. People were nice to me although they made go to over and over again to three offices: Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA), Foreign Regional Registration Office (FRRO) and Senior Superintendent Police office (SSP).

After one month, I still need to get the visa to USA back, which by the way, has to be new, that is, I have to do the process all over again. Fun!

Even so, I love India and I feel so blessed to have come here.

In case you need advice regarding lost passports in India, contact me 😊
