 auroracamel Emma Farrell Post Count: 3 Msg: #1 90 weeks ago, March 27th 2008 | Hi Everybody, | I thought I would just post to say be really careful if you are travelling to Nha Trang in Vietnam. Unfortunately my bag was stolen with my camera and phone inside. Also in the group that I happened to be with that night a girl's phone and cash was stolen out of her bag and another guy's camera was robbed. They seem to hang around the "Sailing Club" which is a bar/restaurant/nightclub. The night before I went I met somebody on the beach who told me of about four different instances of people he had met who had got robbed there. The next day I was talking to people about it and they said that they had also had similar experiences. One guy was cornered by six people, he managed to run away and hop on a moto, only to be brought down a lane way where there was another six people waiting for him! When I went to my hotel reception to ask where the police station was so I could report a crime, she laughed and asked "was it in the sailing club". I responded "yes", she just said "its always the sailing club" Wish I was exagerating, but Im not. I would reccommend you try and avoid the place at night, unfortunate because it is a really nice place to go and I had a great night before that happened. I saw it in the guidebooks to but really didn't think it would be that bad...its mainly at night you have to be on guard...have a good trip you will love it.
