Help with Itinerary traveling with 4 X 4 from San Jose!!!! Romance and relaxation!

Hi Everyone!
My boyfriend and I will be in the country from February 16- February 23.
My thoughts, so far:
Fly in on Sat. to San Jose and drive up to Arenal for the night. Any ideas where to stay to view the volcano, hit a hot tub and relax with a good meal?
Sunday:Explore (maybe some canyoneering during the day and hiking?) and then hit the hot springs at night.
I guess stay in the same place
Monday: Zip line Monteverde area?
Drive over and around to the Nicoya Peninsula and down to Santa Teresa
Spend Monday Night-Friday night down there: would like to have surf lesson, beach relaxing, dancing, drinks, music, snorkeling on a boat trip- just experience the slow life.
Sat. AM: boat across the Peninsula to Puntarenas and head up to San Jose?
We live in Manhattan and want to wind-down but not drop a TON of cash. Our airfare was really $$$
Is this a good itinerary AND WHERE SHOULD WE LODGE??? Want romantic, secluded and NOT touristy. Reply to this

Hi Michele,
Sounds like you should have and great trip. For a ggod place to stay in Arenal try La Pradera it has Cabins at about $80 per night and has great views of the Volcano. Bladi Hot Springs are great for chilling out and have a swim up cocktail bar.
When you are in Monteverde you have to eat at Morphos in the centre of town, they have the best food.
have a great trip

Monteverde has a 1KM Zip Line. Very nice. I like the Zip Lines in Arenal because of the view. I have lived here for 2 years and must say the zip lines was the biggest rush I have ever done. Reply to this
