Stay with local family (Beijing)

Im posting this to assist those who speak very little Chinese and are heading to Beijing. Many of us get into tourist traps without knowing it. Hope this helps a bit.

Hey you travellers, I was just in Beijing a couple of weeks ago on a homestay program. The family I stayed with was amazing!!!! I had the opportunity to learn some basic Chinese, cooking, chinese tea ceremony, calligraphy and everything about Chinese way of life from this family. They speak good English so no communication break down at all. Plus they drive around to the places which are less touristy since I was not too keen on crowded places. So, we went to the more rural parts of the city (huairou, miyun, shunyi). They even took me to Tian Jin (a neighboring city about 1.5 hours away). The seafood was awesome!

So, for those of you who would like to immerse in the Chinese culture, I'd highly recommend homestay. I'd recommend this family too if you are interested. And I think the whole trip (excluding air tickets) was under EURO 350 for 7 days.

Write to or if you want more info.
