Hi guys, I'm planning on travelling to Moscow in April and hoping to stay there a couple of days before picking up the trans siberian railway to bejing.

Bascially I was hoping for someone to recommend the best place to book flights and recommendations on good hostels to stay in that will be near the main attractions in Moscow.

Any advice or suggestions welcome! Reply to this

I always find good hostels on good ol' www.hostels.com. Simple, fast, and the reviews have always been right on for me. Good luck and happy travels ... *Serendi* =] Reply to this

The best place to book for flights may depend on where you are coming. For all the hype about the greatness of the online booking engines, you can check out the local website of some of the larger airlines from your region and often find that the price they offer is not much different or that the specials that they release are as good or better than what you find on the search engines. Different airlines travel to Moscow from different regions. From the US, Delta offer some good prices, so does Aeroflot, Lufthansa and there are others, depending on whether you want a direct flight or one coming via Europe and adding another 4 - 9 hours to your flight.

As for hostels, they are limited in Moscow and the website you have been referred to is as good as any. There are also plenty of apartments available for rent in Moscow on a short term basis, ranging from cheap and scruffy to Executive level, depending on your budget. MoscowRic does a range of relatively cheap apartments in a good location, if you don't want a hostel. I only offer Executive level apartments, so unless you have a budget for that, I cannot help you with mine.

If you are still not sure about flights, send me a PM telling me where you are flying from and I can try to help you with the airlines that I know will head to Moscow from where you are. I have used a few different ones and priced lots of them in the past for different trips, so I may be able to offer some help.

Hello j500sut :)

This is the search engine I usually use to book long haul flights. Click on the US flag to change it to English.

Book flights on the internet rather than through an agent because then u will not have to pay an agents fee.
