Dheu SD Post Count: 2 Msg: #1 108 weeks ago, December 4th 2007 | Hi, | We will be in Bangkok from Dec 13th to Dec 15th. I would like to know which hotel (~100$) will be good and safe according to your experience. Also, we would like to stay near the heart of the city so that we can take public transportation and can walk around in night too. What transportation will be safe and cheaper from Suvarnabhumi airport to hotel? Do you guys suggest a "must see place" near Bangkok? we don't want to go too far away from BKK, may be 1-2 hours bus ride will be ok. Any suggestion will be helpful. Thanks a lot, Mikey M Mike Meggiato Post Count: 325 Msg: #2 108 weeks ago, December 4th 2007 | Hi Dheu, i have no ideas on hotels in BKK, as im more of a hostel man myself, but your best transport from the airport is a taxi and i know it is about 300thb to Kao San Road and the city centre is closer so i doubt the fair would be more than that. As you do not want to stray far from BKK , you could try Pattaya this is i think about two hours away but it is by the sea and gives you a contrast to the hustle and bustle of BKK(Bangkok). The are plenty of places to visit in BKK such as the weekend market, floating market, the grand palace and reclining Buddha just to name a few. | I think Thailand is safe as any place as long as you are sensible, Thailand also has tourist police aswell, so you get your own police force to assist you.
