I'm thinking about giving my wife a trip to Argentina as a gift. Looking for names of premium tour operators to put together a visit to BA, Patagonia, and maybe another location. I'm primarily interested in the premium companies; cost isn't much of an issue. Maybe somebody of the caliber of Ker & Downey (has anybody used them for Argentina?). Any thoughts or comments would be greatly appreciated! Any MUST DO locations beyond the obvious would also be helpful. Thanks! Reply to this

hola

i admit it, i am oppossed to tour operators in every sense nd context . but trust me (i am living in argentina at the moment) you are probably better off, price wise too going without a tour trip. argentina is a wonderful place to travel, the people are great. and don´t let your level of spannish hold u back (even if it is non existant).

if u want. tell me the time period u have nd i´ll send u some ideas. its schools hols here nd im happy to lend a hand. if u arent keen on bussing, flying is a good option.

Yessss , you don't need a tour. Just my opinion. You can rent a car in Buenos Aires, for example, and drive to Bariloche and Mendoza, flight to Tierra de Fuego (the trip by car is a bit bored and long); if you preffer something more "tropical" Misiones is a very nice place (with the ¿waterfalls? Iguazú). Finally, in the north, in some places, you will have to lear a bit of spanish, if you go to non-touristic places (sometimes the best places) you sholud lear a bit of the language.

"Asatej" is a very popular and international tour operator.

Good luck,
cesar. Reply to this
