The main road to the capital is not bad. All other roads are very bad to atrocious. 150 km in 2,5 days, along the border with Turkey. Don't know anything about public transport. People are generally friendly but reserved. Country out of communist system and not everybody is happy with that. I don't know what you are looking for. but Turkey is a lot nicer.
