Can someone please give me an idea of weather in Febuary? I seem to get different forecasts when i search the net.
This is a rough idea of where we\'ll be:
Cambodia from 2nd to 7th Feb. Then Hanoi and Halong Bay from 8th to 15th Feb. Then heading south to Danang and Hoi An from 15th to 24th Feb. Then to Nha Trang for 3 days before heading to Ho Chi Minh until the 28th Feb.
Should i be taking warm clothes for any of these destinations? We'll only be taking a backpack so were hoping to pack light.
Im hoping its going to be quite hot, or at least swimmable weather.
Thanks! Reply to this

My wife and I were in Vietnam in January 2002. In Hanoi and Halong Bay it was fairly cool, good for wearing a sweater and/or a light jacket. Around Danang and HoiAn, and south of there, we were comfortable wearing our normal Summer clothes. For our story and photos of that trip see the "Indochina" section of Our Travel Journals website: www.evcal.org

In Vietnam, Feb is a bit cool with light rain in the North like Hanoi, Halong and Sapa, but still hot in the South and central like Hochiminh, Nha Trang, Danang, Hue.
Furthermore, early Feb is also the Chinese Lunar Year in Vietnam nicknamed "Tet", let's come and enjoy our great holiday of the year. Need support, drop me a line at

Daynas Travels,
I live in Hanoi for long time but there are some changes to weather in Hanoi and surroundings due to global climate change. It is a little bit cold in Feb, this means you can not swim in Halong but nice to take your trip. I agree with caldnj that you should bring with you sweater and light jacket. Feb is also in Winter so you should bring with you some medicines for weather changes.
It is ok in Danang, Hoi an, Nha trang and Ho Chi Minh for there is no "winter" in these locations, I mean very light winter, you hardly feel coldness in these areas. The temp is around 20oC - 38oC depending. You can comfortably swim...
