What can I visit that is close to New Delhi???

Hi!!!!

I'll be visiting India next December 2007, I'll be arriving to New Delhi and I'm going to spend 1 week there.

I'd like someone to recommend me what places to visit in Delhi and also places around Delhi that can be visited in one-day trip.

I've booked an RCI hotel so I've to go back every day to overnight at that hotel in Delhi.

Popular attractions of New Delhi <SNIP> are Lotus Temple, India Gate, Qutub Minar, Red fort, Jantar Mantar, Delhi Haat and Pragati Maidan.

you can plan overnight trips to hillstations up in north,like rishikesh,manali,kasauli,shimla,dehradoon,nainital Etc. the minimum drive time is 8 hrs by road , you can catch any tourist bus or hire a tourist cab.it will be fun.

A one-day roundtrip you should not miss is a trip to Agra to visit the Taj Mahal and the Red Fort. An express train leaves Delhi about 7:00am for the 2-3 hour ride to Agra and returns to Delhi in the late afternoon.
