Aeroflot is certainly my worst... Singapore Airlines was lovely.
Reply to this Aeroflot run a close first with KLM on my top 5 worse airlines....lol
Reply to this RYANAIR!!!!...the staff is rude, they don't give you seat number so you have to fight for them and the seats are too small, even for me, and I'm only 1.60 m!!!!!...the best I've used so far has to be Virgin Atlantic
Reply to this Oh yeah! Maybe you're right, but it's not my experience. I flew this year and they were great. The important and irrefutable point is that they have 100% safety record and are the oldest airline in the world. They've NEVER lost a sing;e passenger since 1920. No other airline can say taht, and I don't even work for them!!
Reply to this Wow!!!! I didn't know that!!!! and I'm actually quite surprised because the landings are not specially good, although I guess small planes move much more than big ones, so probably that's not their fault!!!!...I may give them another chance and just try not to listen to the staff when they are in a bad mood...which is quite a normal mood to be when you work in such a busy environment...
Thanks for your comment!!!
Reply to this Singapore Airlines has made me enjoy their flights as much as whatever followed them... They are a dream to fly and treat their passengers like royalty. I can't say half of that about any other airline and I have flown a few miles with most of them out there! The defunct SABENA (
Such
A Brutal
Experience!,
Never
Again!) was a real nightmare and I guess they ultimately paid for it!
Reply to this Qantas is our best so far - we got hot chocolate with marshmellows and tim tams as a supper before we went to sleep!
The worst is tied between 2 South American airlines - TACA (very grumpy cabin crew with really bad make up who shouted at us for putting our bag in the overhead locker!) and LAN Chile (broken seats, rude staff and bad, bad food) and surprisingly British Airways.
British Airways shocked us...extremely rude cabin staff with very bad attitudes, poor food options (lamb or fish and if you don't eat either of those you didn't get food!) and they brought one lot of drinks around on a 16 hour flight and huffed at us, then ignored us when we asked for a drink. On one flight we got a ham mayo sandwich literally thrown at us as a meal, we asked if they had a non-bread option and a sandwich with no mayo option, we just got a dirty look and the cabin crew lady walked away, we never got an answer...poor service! Quite shocking really!
Reply to this Virgin Atlantic Upper Class - a dream
If you go to Tahiti travel with Air Tahiti Nui First Class - a dream too
Reply to this I've never tried either of the two! I am glad that there are a few more dream weavers out there!
Reply to this Best: None really, I travel cheap - therefore take cheap airlines.
OK:Sunwing - Surprisingly good for a cheap airline.
Air Canada - Cramped, kind of smelly.
Worst: Cathay Pacific - lost my bags 3 times, in 1 month. Good food though.
LIAT - Scary, old planes.
American Airlines - Horrible staff.
Air Transat - Smelly, incredibly little leg room (horrible cramping), disgusting food (and I enjoy airplane dinners).
Reply to this Well it was a long time ago now son maybe they've got their act together, but Air Uzbekistan were truly awful! Closely followed by Aerolineas Argentinas for their stupid long queues at check-in.
A strange first place for me, but Santa Barbara airlines, Venezuela. Cheap and the service was excellent.
Reply to this Worst: Caledonian Air, an absurd airline disappeared (so I think and hope) a few years ago. I had this surreal experience with them in a Rome-London flight where the flight was delayed from 4 till 11pm AFTER the boarding procedure had been done. That meant there was no way us passengers could leave the departure area. When the aircraft was finally ready, the stewards came in and literally pushed us in shouting "hurry up, hurry up!!" A kind of nazi style procedure, I guess. On top of that, the heating system was k.o. so they had to distribute huge amounts of blankets as if they were the red cross and we the homeless victims of an earthquake.
Ryanair never reached these limits but, still, they are pretty bad too.
Best: Thai International.
Reply to this British Airways has a horrible record for losing bags, especially if you fly through Heathrow. I'd have to say that losing everything I owned six months through a year long trip really put them on my poop list. My bag finally arrived home five months later. Horrible!!
Emirates is by far the best I've ever flown. Qantas was great but Emirates is well worth the extra money!!!
Reply to this Best: Emirates. Excellent service, food, staff, planes and inflight entertainment.
Singapore Airlines. Very hard to fault them on anything. Consistantly good.
easyJet. Although there are better airlines, for the price, the staff are always friendly and for a budget airline, I find their planes quite comfortable.
Worst: Ryanair. Simply dodgy! I am a very comfortable flyer but I actually feel unsafe when flying Ryanair. After we nearly crashed into anther plane when landing in Dublin, I never flew them again. Also for an airline whos motto is "the on time airline", I NEVER once arrived on time and I flew with them way too much simply because they were cheap.
I've flown many times with many different airlines and generally found most airlines decent. We bitch and moan about flying but it could be worse. I'm thankful that I travel in this day in age where flying is reasonably cheap or even just available. Back in the old days, spending 4 months on a boat to England doesn't sound like a good time to me 😊
Reply to this If you want a bad Airline try Air Zimbabwe. Most of their fleet are probably not even airworthy due to a lack of parts. When I flew with them on an internal flight the row of seats in front of mine were moving all over the place. Staff were ill mannered and ill trained although they seemed to think differently.
My parting point would be you get what you pay for! Cheap fare will not always give you the greatest service!
Reply to this WORST
-- TAP (Air Portugal) - the airlines with europe with more delays and with lost bagagge! And I think the staff is rude!
Reply to this I was actually really impressed with Air Senegal International. We were a bit worried because they're known as the bargain airline of West Africa. Really, though, they were great. We had barely taken off when we were served our food and drinks, and on our return flight, we left a half hour early. Things like that never happen in Africa!
Reply to this I always fly Singapore Airlines as they are consistantly superior in all service. Only problem is everyone knows that and they are heavily loaded with passengers. Forget stretching out. Internationally Air NZ rate a high mention for how hard they try
Locally, Virgin Airlines cannot be beaten for service and friendliness.
Jetstar - flew once, never gain, small planes and bad attitudes. Worst I've been on.
Reply to this Worst- United Airlines. I've never once flown with them and arrived on time, or with all my bags. Forced us to miss a cruise once! Never compensated us.
Best- I have yet to find a great airline, (Jet Blue is okay) but I will fly Korean Air in 2 days so I'm looking forward to seeing how they are.
