Penang or Langkawi?
My wife and I will be visiting Malaysia in December. But we have time for only one place Langkawi or Penang. Which one do you recommend??

what are you looking for exactly? penang is more city-like albeit with extremely good food and the beaches are quite nice too whereas langkawi is more of a place to chill out although there are various things to do on the island. Reply to this

if you like beaches then Langkawi is the place, you can also explore the island in a day by car or motorbike and see waterfalls and different beaches. It's also a duty free island with some nice restaurants and bars, very chilled out and lazy days to be had here.
Agree with #3 that Penang is more city based and the Indian food is excellent. There is a nice mix of Chinese and Indian culture with old British colonial buildings, a couple of big shopping centres too. But we thought the beaches aren't as nice as Langkawi's. Reply to this
