hi people, pls help out: I've been checking many hotels' websites but I can't find any hotel that is near Mt Fuji where one can see it huge staring down at the hotel. I'm not looking for one (preferably a Ryokan) at Mt Fuji as one then can't see the whole of Mt Fuji in all its splendour. Maybe one a few miles away (like south of Kawaguchi lake) with natural springs bath onsen and reasonable food. I've checked those next to Kawaguchi lake but they seem not near to Mt Fuji enough. Thanks for helping 😊

Hi Ranchu. We stayed at Kawaguchi Station Inn last November for a couple of nights. The location was really handy - the train and bus station were just across the road). Our room was traditional tatami and was to the front of the building (facing onto the road, across to the train station and with a view of Fuji beyond). The sinks and toilets were mixed (male and female) and shared between all rooms on the floor - they were kept very clean and the toilets were western style. There were traditional baths (separate for male and female) on the top floor which offered fantastic views to Fuji while you bathed - see picture . Overall we were really impressed. They also had internet and a cafe on the ground floor. It cost Y15,600 for 2 people for 2 nights. Hope this helps! Vikki Reply to this

Thanks Vikki v much for your post and the lovely photo. My wife is asking me to get a hotel nearer to Mt Fuji to see it staring down at the hotel 😊 I will certainly check out the hotel you recommended if I can't get one nearer the mountain. Cheers Reply to this
