We intend to stay in New Zealnd for 3 to 4 months doing both of the Islands, North and South. We have got our work visas, can anyone recommend the best place to work, Wellington? And if you know of any good websites or agenices that we could get in touch with for work.
Reply to this If you want to be in one of the 'cities' then I loved Wellington. I lived there for 8 months and had an amazing time. Everything is central - you'll work and go out in the same area, with the furthest area of the CBD being a max 30 min walk to the furthest end of the bar area. It's not a big clubbing place but then that's probably not NZ anyway. There's lots of nice/cheap restaurants, heaps of bars, friendly locals, it's got harbour views and it's easy to get away at the weekends - perhaps head up to the Martinborough region for some wine tasting, across on the ferry to the Queen Charlotte Sound or catch a flight to Nelson and head up to the Abel Tasman. Personally I didn't like Auckland - too spread out with no soul. People worked in the centre but went out in the suburbs - with the city being so sprawling if you're friends didn't live in the same surburbs then it's a bit of a trek.
Reply to this Thanks for this information, cant wait till we get there
Reply to this Some job search sites. Can't personally vouch for them as good or bad but at least it's a starting point for you. The last one looks more geared to short-termers than the others.

Reply to this Hi Shane, I'd suggest checking the links in msg #4 and #5 for the current situation. You could probably make enquiries/apply ahead of being there in person if there's anything relevant.
