Hey I just need to know if anyone has been on a Dragoman Overland tour in Southern Africa.
I\'m thinking of booking a 5 week trip from Vic Falls to Cape Town (or vica versa) passing through South Africa, Lesotho, Swaziland, Mozambique, Zimbabwe, Botswana and Namibia. This seems to be best option for me as i\'m only in Africa for about 6 weeks of my round the world trip and i would like to see and experience as much as possible in that time. I\'m just keen to hear from anybody who has experienced this type of trip before with this or any similar company, How did you rate it? any tips, was it worth the money, how expensive are the activities that aren\'t included?
Cheers guys.
Reply to this Hey there!
Alhough I myself have never been on a Dragoman tour, I did meet someone on my last trip who had just come off a ten week dragoman excursion. She raved about it, and said that at times it was a little difficult, she would do it all again in a minute. She had nothing bad to say about the company, and price wise from MY research I have found that they are almost unbeatable. Hope this helps.
Reply to this Tinkabelle, I have only heard good things about Dragoman and am looking at their trips too. I am interested in visiting Zimbabwe despite the problems there, and they are one of the companies that goes there.
Reply to this I've heard better things about Oasis if it helps.
Zimbabwe is still pretty safe for tourists, I think the last time we actively killed one was in about 1983. So it should be fine....in fact by staying away people are not helping our economic problems!
Reply to this Hi Tinkabelle,
We travelled with Drago for three months around South America and we loved it.
A lot of the people we met had travelled through Africa with them and based on there recommendations we would'nt travel africa with anyone other than Drago.
Go for it you will love.
One word of warning. The people you travel with can either make or break your trip.
Good Luck
