Travel alone or not ?
Is travelling alone the purest form of adventure, or an unnecessary stress ?

In need of some adventure and looking forward to some rest bite from the rat race, I decided to pack my bags and head for Australia. Having done it in the past I was comfortable going it alone, my theory being that despite being scary to begin with what an awesome adventures you have meeting loads of new people as you have no excuses not to.
But then I got to thinking what if you were to meet a few people to start with before you go, that might take relplace 'scary' with 'excited'. I stumbled across a website www.mango-tree.com where I found loads of people also looking for travel partners, a week after entering my profile I found my self sitting in a pub in London with 3 new friends all heading in the same direction. Awesome!
Is this cheating? does it diminish part of the adventure?

I prefer traveling alone... well, except when the place seems like a bit dangerous or something.. I make sure I get some help from a person who is well acquainted with the place. Reply to this
