Reply to this For me:
- Copenaghen, Denmark
- Rome, Italy
- Budapest (nicer than prague and less turistic), Hungary
- Palermo, sicily, italy
Reply to this I think Seattle is very good. There are several spots to see great views of the city.
Alki Beach
Queen Anne (There is a park which I can never remember the name)
Gas Works Park
Reply to this I must say that a harbor off the Hiroshima Prince Hotel was amazing at night!!! I cant remember the exact name but....
high tide, good friends, tree covered mountains.....
Reply to this How about Taormina in Sicily? i know its only a small place, but the view from the main square is lovely as you can see as far as Giardina Naxos and if you go to the Greco Theatre you can see Mount Etna on a clear day. Awsome or what!
Reply to this Rio? Sarah & peter, did you see ALL of it? I mean, seriously... If we just consider the nice parts of a city, then we should include Rome, Buenos Aires and Cape Town. Unfortunately many cities have this distressing habit to sprawl badly. Let's consider in which city you'd live without too much money (in local terms). How many of the previously and deservedly mentioned would resist?
Anyway, I'd join the Vancouver and Sydney party, even if it's hard to find decent cheese. But I am surprised no one mentioned:
- London
- Rome
- Seattle
Cheers
Mark
Reply to this how about Sicily? your thinking small island in the med try going to Taormina on the East coast full fo charm and romance.
try going for a view from the Greco Theatre in town you can see as far as Giardini Naxos and Mount Etna.
Remember your oil and water as it gets very hot there. Cost about Β£2.00 to get in.
I know abit creepy but what about Catacombs of Cappunnic very hard to find in Palmero.

San Francisco is just unique. Probably it's even one of the most beautiful places in the world!
Thanks,

Reply to this According to me most beautiful place is Gumbet Turkey.
Gumbet is popular resort of turkey for its night life and water sports. All the lively beaches and cool environment you feel exotic in the resort.Gumbet has active, noisy nightlife on the way to beach you can encounter a great number of restaurants, bars, nightclub, shopping centre and discos at Gumbet. Dolmus Buses are the cheapest and safest mode of transportation here.
Side Turkey, Side Holidays Reply to this SF is my fav city too! I am not a city person, but you can just enjoy the place, alone or with company, with a cuppa hot choc & the ocean! The view of the city from the Golden gate is a gem.
Reply to this I definatly think North wales is the most beautiful place in the world
this is a place in north wales called snowdonia very beautiful place
Reply to this Although I admittedly haven't seen all the major cities in the world, my favourite so far in my travels has been Venice. It's just incredible; the perfect mix of European history and an island getaway. As far as smaller cities or even towns, Colmar in Alsace, France is one of the quaintest little places I've ever been to.
Reply to this There are soo many cities to choose from it is really impossible to pick which one is the best. I love many of them for different reasons. As an avid traveler, I have been around the USA, South America, Canada, Europe, Asia, and Africa. Every place has their pros and cons. For me personally, if you include history, culture, and a combo of old and new world, the ones that stand out the most to me are Paris and Rome. In the USA I gotta go with San Francisco. I haven't been to Prague, but have heard from everyone who has been there that it is stunning. I plan to go next year. Tokyo was awesome too. I spent two summers in Vancouver when I was very young. That city has so much natural beauty as well. Venice and Istanbul were memorable too.
Reply to this Of the few we've been...St John's, Toronto, New York, London, Bath, Stratford, Paris, Rome, Sorrento, Venice, Florence...I'd have to Say the top 3 are:
1. Paris, France
2. Bath, England
3. Venice, Italy
Sure there are many more...hopefully we can add them to our lists also!
Reply to this How about London? Up near Leicester Square and Trafalgar Square or walking along the River and its just going to dusk and you see all the building lit up.
A special one to my heart would be White Hart Lane, home of Tottenham Hotspur FC on an evening match game.
Reply to this Judging from my handle, you can all tell that I love London, mainly for it's nightlife and music/club scene. For my taste in music, it has the best club scene in the world as I am a fan of British indie rock bands. The great thing about London is that I can have family and/or friends that like other types of music and there will always be a place in town that plays it. I've never been to India, but I would say London and Edinburgh are the two places where I had the best Indian food I've ever tasted.
Reply to this Sydney is definately the worlds most beautiful city. It was voted 10 years in a row (1997-2006) by travel + Leisure magazine as the worlds most best city. It is definately a mark above any other city i have been to. Due to its accessibility its probably a hard one to vote on, since it is so far away from North America and Europe.
Anyway, Vancouver and Cape Town round out my top 3.
Reply to this I have to start this post by admitting that I have only traveled mostly within Canada and the US and Bermuda. So let's go with most beautiful city I have seen in North America and I'll have to say Ottawa. It was so clean, well-kept, with a river that separates it from Hull and almost unlimited cultural monuments and attractions. Its drawback is its much too great level of tourism.
Reply to this I think everyone has their own choice, but everyone has different criteria they base it on and everyone views things differently, my personal favorite is Venice........but maybe i biased because of my Italian roots...........lol, so i basically mean everyone will have a favorite for some reason or other but like everything in life everyone is different and so are there choices.
