I really just want to stay on the main track: Beijing, Hong Kong, Shanghai and some more you might like to suggest. Cheers! =] sunnyxielihua xielihua Post Count: 8 Msg: #3 143 weeks ago, April 4th 2007 | spend one month is enough to cover the major cities of China: Beijing, Shanghai, Guilin, Tibet, Sanya and HongKong. The reason to travel these places, Beijing is the capital city of China to see the forbidden city, the great wall, summer palace and Ming Tomb etc, Shanghai is the biggest city to see the Bund, the commencial area, Huihai Rd. Guilin is one of the most beautiful places in China, to see the trepid lake and comely mountain. Sanya is the southern tip of China, the only tropical city with amazing clear seawater and beautiful scenery as well, unique hotspring bath, and Top Notch golf couses etc. Tibet is the holy place to visit, it has Patala Palace and holy lakes with highest altitude, but go to Tibet you need to get the entry permit. finalized you travel journey, need any help write to me sunny@globalsanya.com | milesaway sarahmyr Post Count: 4 Msg: #4 143 weeks ago, April 4th 2007 | yeah...shanghai is really a good place to visit in china...among the places i have been in china,i love shanghai best because of the clean air, beautiful and friendly people plus the city is really amazing with all the variety of buildings...the architectural design is really great. In Shanghai, you can feel the mixture of old and modern traditions. So much to say but I am certain that you won't regret going to shanghai.. | When you are upto countryside and experiencing the real old china, then go to yunnan...it's a very beautiful province especially when you get to kunming, dali, lijiang and all through the tiger leaping gorge! There is also this place called xinhuabana in yunnan and it's famous for it's wildlife!I am here in Yunnan now and it's really amazing! Yeah a month will do but as for me,I would rather maximize a three -month visa if you are given one.....by the way,it's also good to stay in hostels in china rather than hotels to experience the real culture.... sunnyxielihua xielihua Post Count: 8 Msg: #5 143 weeks ago, April 5th 2007 | #4, you'd better come down to the south. You will discover another amazing place in China. You might have heard about Sanya City, Hainan Province. I think to travel China, Sanya is a mush see place as well. I been to Beijing and Shanghai, both are good and have different features. but for Sanya, it is really a place for relaxation. | renmenbi renmenbi Post Count: 3 Msg: #6 136 weeks ago, May 29th 2007 | Hello, this is a great site to learn about Chinese culture. It is very mesmerizing. I found this video recently about a western woman in Beijing who is proficient in Chinese. She goes around interviewing people (young as well as elderly) about the marriage and dating scene in China. Her questions really gave me a lot of insight into Chinese culture. | http://www.yinyangreport.com/?p=64 PETERandANNICE The ORourkes in China 2007 Post Count: 7 Msg: #9 135 weeks ago, May 30th 2007 | To see China and to know it are two very differnt things ... seeing it from Beijing and the main stream is wonderfull but should only be a starting point. Besides the main cities, like Shanghai, Beijing, Guilin, Tibet ,Xi'an, there are lot of other interesting destinations which are worthy of visiting. One of the problems he has is finding a reasonable place to stay for less than a month. As they say, "Neccessity is the Mother of Invention", his solution is to find partners in various Chinese cities who can provide short term accommodation. Some may even act as guides, teachers or interpreters. I am helping him to find places in Beijing.
