I've been searching the site for details of the criteria for each of the TravelBlog awards - Photographer, Commenter, Geography, etc. - but, so far, without success. Is there a simple link to information on, for example, how many photographs/comments/etc. are needed for Level 1, for Level 2, and so on?
Reply to this Just click on one of the awards you have received and you will see the various award levels for that award and who has attained each. Then to the lower right side you will see the full list of awards. Just click on each to see the same information on each award. I don't know where to find the numbers which qualify one for each level. Hopefully Jo or Shane can help.
Reply to this In response to: Msg #182556 Thanks Bob. Yes, I got that far too, but have still been unsuccessful in finding out the numbers attached to each level. There used to be details somewhere - I just wish I knew where!
Reply to this Anyone - suggestions on where I might find the information?
Reply to this In response to: Msg #182765 OK, I had to do some real digging on this! I went to http://www.alexa.com/siteinfo/travelblog.org (see the link at the very bottom) that gives a snapshot of websites over the years, and picked a pre-V.5 snap shot. When following the instructions above I found the information you asked for:
Forum Poster: 100, 1000, and 10,000
Commenter: 100, 1000, and 10,000
Photography: 100, 1000, and 10,000
Blog Poster: 100, 500, and 800
Moderator Award: This award is granted to those intrepid souls who help moderate the travelblog forums, review new accounts and help out on the general administration of travelblog. Your name has come up...do you want to be a Moderator?
Geography Award: Only one level given to travelblog members who have helped organising the travelblog location database. I think it is defunct.
Photo of the Week Award: Each week a photo from an aspiring blogger is selected by our moderators, from a shortlist nominated by our members. It's designed to give exposure to bloggers who at the time of the award don't appear on the front page - raising the profile of unknown talent.
Blogger of the Week Award: Same as PoW above.
Hall of Fame Award: Nominated by all Bloggers and 20 are selected each year by Moderators.

Bob, you're a genius!
Thanks for spending so much time ferreting out the information. I wonder where this useful stuff disappeared to in the site-upgrading process. The details clearly need to be reinstated; otherwise, the awards themselves become a bit meaningless, don't they? Will you give Ali a gentle boot in the proverbial or should I? :0)
The reason I was looking for the criteria was simply that, while I have some of the awards, the Blog Poster one has so far eluded me. I've published 90+ blogs and I'm way behind on completing more - now I have an incentive to finish them and add another badge to my profile.
As for Moderator, well, I'd love to get more involved but, alas, time is not on my side. I started reading about your early life in the Far East, for example, and only got as far as your 40th Anniversary before being overtaken by other events! There aren't enough hours in the day to write my own blogs either, yet alone deal with all the work entailed in moderating others. Maybe when I'm old(er) and grey(er)...!
Lastly, your research has served another purpose for me - I wasn't previously aware of Alexa.com. Their statistics make fascinating reading. Who would have guessed that 28.6%!o(MISSING)f visitors to the TravelBlog site are in India? Only 18.5%!o(MISSING)f the audience come from the USA and a mere 5.4%!f(MISSING)rom the UK.
Renewed thanks. Keep up the good work - and, of course, keep smiling!
Reply to this In response to: Msg #182773 Alas, as you would find out as a Moderator, most of the hits from India result in spam. There are a couple of other countries who give us this problem, too. It's refreshing to accept New bloggers who are actually bloggers. I can let Ali or Michelle know to add the levels, and will suggest lowering some of the levels. I'm smiling!
Reply to this Apparently our beloved programmers haven't fixed the bug that prevents the automatic update of awards once we have earned that award or attained the next level. Could Ali, Michelle, or Jo let us know where this stands on the priority list of bug fixes. Thanks.
