What to do in Alaska in 7 days

My husband & I booked a trip to Alaska a few weeks ago as Virgin American Airlines had a great sale. $630 TOTAL for 2 adults roundtrip from LAX to Anchorage. Our friend lives in Girdwood but want any advise from those who have traveled Alaska. This is our 1st time there and enjoy the road less traveled and we travel on a budget.

We arrive around midnight on July 6th and fly out at 12:50am on the 14th, so we have Sunday-Saturday full to travel around. Any advise is welcomed.
