Hi Tanya, your iinerary is not going to be relaxing and it may feel very rushed. You need to calculate the time to travel between places, whatever you choose, boat, plane or bus/car will subtract from your honeymoon time and these places are quite far away. Also calculate time to get to airport/port/bus station. I would suggest you restrict yourself to two places in each country. This will give you some time for each other and not just think about packing for the next destination. Taking a couple of days in Athens in the beginning is a good idea, you will need some time to adjust, and there are lots to see although also a very big and busy city. Santorini is a main draw, and if you can afford it it is certainly very beautiful. And romantic. I love Crete, but it is a big island and two days is just not enough time to explore. Crete is authentic, if you get out from the holiday resorts, lots of archaeology, mountain villages, breathtaking views. So I would choose one of the islands - you need to some research and see what you suits you best. In Turkey I would suggest Cappadocia, I haven't been myself, but from what I heard you need at least 3 days to see it properly. Istanbul is wonderful, I was there for four days and I didn't have enough time. Also take into account what the weather will be like, summer in the Mediterranean is hot. Reply to this

Hello Tanya and welcome to Travel blog.

Sounds like you are going to have a wonderful honeymoon and you have selected great locations.

If it were me and I only had two weeks I would spend the entire time in Greece. It is such a lovely country that you do not want to zip through it.

My recommendation would be:
Athens 4 nights
Mykonos 4 nights
Santorini 4 nights
Crete 4 nights

There is so much to do. Another island to consider would be Corfu.

After more research we are getting closer to finalizing the itinerary...
Day 1-4 Istanbul
Day 4-6 Cappadocia
Day 6-7 Ephesus
Day 7-9 Athens
Day 9-12 Santorini
Day 12-15 Crete

I am looking for hotels in each place. and I have done a lot of research on Turkey, but less on Greece. Any suggestions of things for a honeymoon trip? places to stay? towns to stay in for relaxation, hiking, etc. Thanks!! Reply to this

The plan you proposed is really good with 24 days you will be able to visit each destination with your all hands open to extract out the tradition, the culture of that very destination. Reply to this
