For me it worked for photos from the TravelBlog (photo="photo number") (replace the round with square brackets).
But I guess you meant uploading a picture right away? I wanted to do the same thing but I also could not find a way to upload a picture directly to the forum. As far as I understand you can only embed photos either from your blog or from a website.

Open your photo by left click on it which increases its size. In box to right is a photo number in brackets. Copy that photo number (including brackets) and paste then click on Post Reply...and voila.
