Prior to kids i loved aeroplane travel...i could sleep anywhere...i could fold myself up in an economy flight, watch 3 movies, sleep for 8 hours and arrive ready on the other side of the world for whatever it through at me. But in 2008 we flew the 10 hour flight from hong kong to perth australia leaving at midnight and it was BAD! Beyond BAD :( Our then 11 month old screamed for what must have been a good 10 hours :((( People stared, staff asked us to move to a different section of the plane, we both were very stressed, angry and frustrated to arrive at home ready for an active toddler to toddler around and us just wanting to sleep (and get divorced!)...overall it was bad bad bad.
So...we havent attempted anymore than about 6 hours since then. Although very recently baby number 2 screamed for a good 3 hours of a 5 hour flight :( So...that definitly changed my travel ways for the last few years. Have you had a similar experience or memory that modified the way you travel? Reply to this

haha cindy, arent yours teenagers now! :)
And yes, i completely agree with the foot odour thing :( It happens alot on the flights from singapore to UK and qantas provides socks even in economy to try and 'hide' the odour :) Reply to this

I think those Qantas socks exacerbate the problem rather than masking it. People probably look at the socks and think 'oh goodie free socks' and off come the shoes :(
I also learnt from a bad travel experience to be very careful about selecting my travel companions. I travelled with a good friend through Asia and then to Europe, by the end of that she was a good friend no longer. Reply to this
