Need help on a route to bolivia

Hi there i´m currently in Buenos Aires and looking to be here for the next couple of days. I then want to head up to Bolivia so was thinking of getting a bus to salta stay there for a couple of nights and then head on to Bolivia. What would be the easiest way to get to Bolivia from Salta and is it easy enough to get across the border? Looking to do a trip to the salt flats so any information on the best place to take a tour from would also be great.
