As the title suggests this is what i plan to do in 42 days! I would welcome advice in the best way to approach it.

Hi All

I am from Sydney, Australia. I plan on doing a trip to Turkey,France Spain, Portugal, Morocco and Sabah by myself. I know Sabah is the random pick in this selection. But i need to be there for family for the last 6 days of my trip.

I have a total of 42 days leave. Yipee 😊 I really want to visit everywhere my questions are:

1) In what order would you plan these countries and how?
2)Am i trying to cover too much in one trip?
3) Suggestions of how long you would spend in each country and what you would see.

Any advice in how to approach this would be so very much welcome. 😊 Reply to this

It looks like an OK trip which will give you a lot of experiences from different cultures/countries. Of course it will be an overview, as you can only visit a couple of places in each country. You may want to skip Portugal, to spend some more time in the other countries. If you start in Istanbul you can fly to Paris (too far to go by train), then travel down towards Spain by train. You can then cross over to Morocco over the Gibraltar strait.

In Turkey visit Istanbul and if you have the time Cappadocia. In France Paris and the Mediterranean coast. In Spain Barcelona, Madrid and Granada. Of course there are lot's to see but you have to restrict yourself to a few places. Reply to this

Thanks! The countries i'm really keen on are Turkey and Morocco. I would also like to go to Egypt but when i look at the map they just don't seem to work for me.

I've been told by so many that i should be visiting France and Spain. But really i wonder if Europe is for me.

To give you an idea on my travel preferences. My faves thus far have been India, Japan and Thailand. I've done some of Eastern Europe being Austria, Germany, Croatia and Switzerland. The other areas in Asia i have been are China, Korea, Vietnam, Cambodia and Laos.

I really am after a trip to fill my 42 days minus the family time in Sabah!

I am really open to suggestion at the moment. I wanted to go to South America but i really think you need 6 months to do that.

Right now 42 days of travel may sound like a lot but it will rush you if you stick to your plan to travel to Turkey, France, Spain, Portugal, Morocco and Sabah. I agree with Inga that you will only have time for an overview of these countries if you go to all of them......and that is fine as long as you know that in advance. Nothing wrong with that. If you want to explore more you will need to shorten your list.

If Turkey & Morocco are the two places you want to see I would only go to those two countries.
You could easily spend a month in Spain & Portugal. Actually I have a cousin who spent 3 weeks in Spain and didn't get to the southern part of the country. Inga had a good suggestion to explore Spain and then go from Gibraltar into Morocco.
