On which day does it happen where you are?

When I was living in Canada, I was surprised when I phoned my mother in Ireland on Mother's Day to be told by her that it is not Mothers Day. It was Mother's Day in Canada, and my Exs mother had been telling me all week to phone my mother on Sunday. Reply to this

In the United States it is Sunday, May 8th this year. The US celebrates it on the 2nd Sunday in May each year.

I am in Hungary at the moment and Mother's day is always the first Sunday of May. We celebrated it yesterday. Reply to this

Mothers day is next Sunday here in Germany too. Seems like it is the same all over the world judging from this thread. Not sure what happened with the Ireland, Canada thing. :) Reply to this

Yesterday, May 8th in the US. I treated the wife to sleeping in, and a nice long nap in the afternoon. By then, the kids had driven me to the brink of insanity. lol
