Yes, Vietnam visa on arrival is very easy and safe. You don't need provider passport, just need information in your passport. Just wait about 2 working days you can receive your visa letter. But you must to Vietnam by air.

For Uk passport holder, you dont need to get Vietnam visa if you just stay less than 15 days in Vietnam. If you plan to stay longer than that, you could either apply for your Vietnam visa at Vietnam Embassy or submit a visa request online to get visa stamped at Vietnam Airport.
