I am in the early stages of planning a trip to Torun, Poland (fomerly Thorn, Prussia). Recently discovered it is the birthplace of my paternal great grandfather. Can I get by with English and some very basic German (and quite a bit of French, but not likely of much help there)?
All help gratefully appreciated. Thank you.

Reply to this I never was in Torun. Recommend Wroclaw and Cracow (especially second city with monuments, history and atmosphere)! I was there one year ago and it was really nice time! I stayed in Flamingo Hostel and I met many nice people. I would like to go to Torun in future!
Reply to this I would do that for sure. Besides the heritage of Copernicus, there's a lot to do around ginger bread (if you're into that ) 😊
