I have about 5 weeks in Australia with a friend coming up - what do you think the best way is of travelling?

Although many prefer trains, I think its best to travel by car across Australia - at least you can stop wherever you want and fully explore attractions such as Great Barrier Reef , Great Ocean Road and many others - 5 weeks are long time...even for Australia Reply to this

I travelled around Australia for a year in a 4x4 and it was fantastic. If you don't want to buy one, just put up lift wanted ads at backpackers and read the ads there for lifts offered. You share everything - food, fuel and experiences. I would do the same again. Reply to this
