| What is the best way for my 83 year old mom and her family to travel around Italy? | |||||||||||||||

She wants her family (me) to join her. She has done the expensive cruises around the country. This time she would like to show us some real Italy, instead of what the cruise ships show you. The only problem is my mom would like not to pack and unpack every night. I was wondering if there is a way to accomlish this. If we were doing this state-side we could rent a recreational vehicle. Is this an option in Italy? What are the choices? I would appreciate any assistance. You always have to walk 3 or 4 steps up to get onto the train itself which is a pain especially if you're lugging a suitcase. | I'm not sure if recreational vehicles are common in Italy. I don't think its something that a lot of families do in the summertime for vacation. The roads are narrow and especially inside towns there are some tight hairpin turns that would be difficult in a larger vehicle.
