I am planning to travel to india but i am so confuse when chosing between Taj mahan and Rajasthan.
I have read some articles about the history of 2 places and i love so much.
Unfortunately, i will travel to india on march 2011 for business and have no time to visit both in 1 day( visit all places around)
Which one should be visited first?
Any advice will be appreciated.

Hi,

Well I am a little confused for what you are wanting to do.. is it the Taj Mahal your refering to?

Rajasthan is impossible to visit in one day as it is a state of the India: http://www.indiatraveltours.com/rajasthan-map.jpg

So I guess it will be the Taj Mahal.. your going to be in Delhi? I think day trip tours are possible from Delhi leaving early and returing that night. Reply to this

Rajashtan is lovely, if you have more time, go for Rajashtan. Taj Mahal is in Agra and that's the only 'nice' place in Agra. Other than that Agra... hmm well I leave it to you to venture! :X

My fav place in Rajashtan is Bundi :D Reply to this

Hi Peter, I would suggest visiting Taj Mahal since you only have a day to spare, Not only it is one of the 7 Wonders of the World, but also a place you can enjoy being at for a few hours.

While at Agra, assuming you have the time to spare, also do visit 'Agra Fort' and 'Fathehpur Sikri' - I personally enjoyed the architecture at Fatehpur Sikri more.

Have a good trip in India! Reply to this

Well you cant compare the two. Rajasthan is the land of maharaja's, reflecting the rajput culture and deserts. Whereas Taj Mahal is just a single monument build by the Mughals. If you visit India you can choose to short list other places but Agra and Rajasthan are the 2 must visit places if you come to India.
I live in Jodhpur (Rajasthan) if any one of you happen to visit Rajasthan please feel free to contact me if you need any kind of help with your trip. I would love give to you a tour of the land of Maharaja's and show you what real rajasthan is all about.

For your time you should choose Taj Mahal. In one day you can't visit all in Rajasthan. Reply to this

You can not cover Rajasthan in one single day. So it is better to go for Taj Mahal. Taj Mahal is only thing to see in Agra but Rajasthan is fully loaded with different different places, forts, tastes and games. So for one single day I suggest you to go Agra. Reply to this
