Idea for a place to travel
C Posts: 9
Hi,
I'm looking for a place to go with my son 13 years old - father and san trip.
It's suppose to be a 10 days trip in April.
Any ideas? Reply to this

There is alot to do in Israel from archaeological sites, to extreme sports, hiking in the desert and historical sites. What are your interests? Will you be doing a tour alone? Where do you plan on staying? Once some of these questions are answered it will be easier to help you. Reply to this

Thank you.
No we thought of someting aboard - like safari in Africa, Thailand (not good in April) or something like that.
The thing I wanted is an idea of something more unique.
I need to spend more internet time in looking for the alternatives in that seasson.

I've moved this from the Middle East forum (hence the reason why Norek suggested Israel).
East Africa is also not good in April, Kenya has the rainy season, so many of the safari parks will have limited access. Thailand could be far too wet in April, but Singapore and Malaysia are much better options. Indonesia would also be good at that time of year, and Philippines is another option, but if you are going around Easter, you will strike Holy Week so you will need to be booking very soon. Hi Thanks,
History won!!! - my son want to visit Italy - can't believe that with all the attractions we offered he chose ITALY.
Anyway hope he will like it - I guess we will go to the exotic places without the kids :) Reply to this

Italy is a great country to visit, plenty of history, great food, cultural sites galore. If you had ten days, Venice, Florence (and the Tuscan hills) and Rome are essential. If your son is into history, visiting the cities destroyed by Mt Vesuvius will be an important stop - but make sure to visit both Pompeii and Herculaneum - the latter in my opinion is the better of the two sites. I went to Egypt & Jordan last April, it's not too hot or cold, perfect sightseeing weather. We did a cruise along the Nile, a couple of days in Cairo then a day by the Dead sea, a few days in Petra & finished the trip in Sharm El Sheikh diving. We did everything in 2 weeks & got stuck there for four extra days due to the volcano in Iceland but it wasone of the best trips ever. If you cut out diving in Sharm everything else can be done in 10 days. If you have any questions PM me or read my blog about the trip, hope that helps. Reply to this

@Chris & Nikki,
Thanks - but Egypt these days.... doesn't look like a good option - specially with children.
Any how I'm sure there is a lot to see - we were on Sharem, Dahab and Taba vefore and the shores are wondeful.
