Not sure, but I’m thinking of visiting . The experience would be terrific, but I heard that Cost of Living is quite high now. True? Reply to this

From my experience visiting New York City, USA during the last two years, food and hotel prices were higher than here. There’s a helpful tool that you can use HuMuch.com- find, share, and compare prices around the world to decide for your particular situation. You can compare prices of similar items around the world. Hope that helps! Reply to this

I love New York....one of the only city where you can find anything...I am Canadian and think its fairly cheap in New York in comparaison to Vancouver or Europe. Again, it depends what you are looking for. Hostel are good and cheap...hotel are expensive.

Hot wire can be a good option if you want hotel..

NYC is wonderful but you do need to be prepared for the prices. It is a big city and they charge big city prices. With a bit of effort you can always find ways to save money. i.e. eating food from vendors, looking for low end hotels or not staying in "the city"

We went last year for the 4th of July Independence Day celebrations and it was fantastic.
Welcome to New York City.....have you bought your ticket ?

Let us know what you decide. Can't wait to read your blogs. Reply to this

Hi,
Whether it's your first visit or your 50th, New York City is a great destination for a weekend trip. See the landmark sights, catch a Broadway show or explore small, off-the-beaten-path museums like the Lower East Side Tenement Museum. Just as it has activities to suit every interest, New York City has hotel options to suit every pocketbook. Whether you're looking for a hip new hotel, an old standard or a budget inn, you'll have plenty of options. Reply to this

New York does have a very high cost of living, but it's worth to at least visit for a while! Lots of places close by to see. You could even just take a ltitle trip down the East Coast! Lots of America's history happened there. It could be fun 😊 Reply to this

If you look for a hostal instead of hotel, you will save quite a bit. Also seasonally I have found that some hotels are reasonable. I have seen the same room for $140 to $240 depending on when. I really like the Paramont for staying downtown, just be sure to get an exterior room.

I used the New York City Pass for 2 days and found that within 3 attractions it had paid for it's self. It also allowed me to get in shorter lines and not have to wait forever.

Use the subway - it great. You can get a pass on it for a few days while you are there and save quite a bit. Reply to this

I had the opportunity to live in New York for 5 months and I have to admit that I simply adore this city. A lot of people, actions and events during the whole year, lots of attractions and sights to visit and a great energy and atmosphere in the whole city. I was in America over J1 Visa and worked on for five months, and the last month I traveled through eastern and western coast. The experience is unique and unrepeatable, and New York was like a second home to me, really a beautiful and unique city to visit. Reply to this
