Advice on where to go in Egypt
2 adults and a 10 year old boy needing advice on the best place to stay in Egypt

Hi, we are trying to book a trip to Egypt fron Dec 27th to Jan 2nd. We'd like to stay in an all inclusive resort to make things easier, but want the option to take a trip to see pyramids / historical sites. Can anyone offer their opinion on the best place to stay? Hurghada / El Gouna, for example? Also expected cost, if known. Thank you. Reply to this

I've been to Egypt twice now & both times I get this local guy (Hasssim) to organise the trips for me. He is based in Cario but has a website, if you want I can try and dig out the contact for you. He organises the entire length of your stay including Cairo, Luxor, Aswan, Abu Simbul; complete with guides, hotels meals camel rides etc. There is also the options of going to an oasis (I'd recomend Siwa) and doing a two night falucca trip down the nile. His rates are quite reasonable the last trip i did was three weeks all in and it came to about $400. But be warned it is a backpacking trip and hectic! you might want to opt out of the tour an odd day or two just to relax. If I can be of any further help Good Luck Marc

hi
I have been travelling to egypt since 1999...yes..
I also come from a Travel background ie book tailor made packages for all age groups as well as families
As you are tarvelling out "high season" its best to book a package through some UK tour operators (you can email me directly and i can assist you) as this will work out slightly cheaper for you
once in Egypt either Sharm (there is a boat service from Sharm to hurgarda 3 times a week, takes about 2hrs) which you can purchase tickets locally for
Sharm is the best place for families for an all inclusive deal, also children friendly, nice white beaches if not over packed, great snorkelling..diving..nightlife...
From Sharm you can take a flight (book on line with egypt air/cheap if booked in advance Sharm-Cairo rtn or you can hire a private taxi (about 6hrs to Cairo or by local bus 9hrs +..)..
Its good to spend 3 days in Cairo so you can relax @ the Pyramids/Giza one day trip, include the Egyptian Musuem as well as the Mohammed Ali Mosque (same day)
then next day go to Sarkarra/Saquara...
take a trip down to Downtown to see how Cairo citylife, mind the donkey carts, old battered cars...camels..
To get a child dicount child must be under the age of 11 when travelling
Please be free to ask anything and i will gladly advise you
Oh yes,., change your money out there, you get a better rate ..all places take C/Cards...
Temp during that time of year, if near the sea, you will require a light jacket, water temp around 19C..
