Im off to SE Asia on Saturday, so will be there soon. Not saying that to rub it in, but more because I am so excited about it, and going on and on to anyone who will listen. Reply to this

Hello! This is my first post on this site. I'm an amateur road-tripper with a particular fondness for visuals. The first road trip I went on for my own enjoyment was to Los Angeles. My roommate and I drove 18 straight hours and arrived at Venice Beach, CA at 6:something in the morning, which is, sadly, a sight that most people aren't willing to see. Perhaps they should:
I realize that VB is one of the most over-hyped, over-crowded beaches in America, but the way I experienced it that day will be the way I remember it forever: like the entire stretch of beach from the pier to Pacific Park was all mine.

Yeah, is about time I get a chance to rub it in, after spending half the winter looking out at the hail and snow and the other half looking at you and Dale on sun drenched Asian beaches. ;)
I am going to Thailand, Malaysia and Singapore. After Thailand, island hopping to Malaysia, then to KL to get a look at the two main tourist attractions there. The Petrona Towers and Ali. ;) Then Singapore. Then the jungle train. From what people say, I think it will be cool to go through the jungle on a train. It will be a way to see and feel the jungle, while avoiding contact with leeches, and hopefully spiders and snakes will also stay outside. Otherwise, 16 hours of screaming for us, but better than the 2 weeks of it like the last time were in the jungle. Those jungle creatures terrify me. Then Perhentian Kecil for a while, before back to Thailand.
Did you visit the cafe in the Oriental Hotel, in Bangkok? I might go there next Sunday for a drink, because it seems like a beautiful hotel, from what the Lonely Planet says. Old colonial style and another major expats haunt. Drinks are likely ridiculously expensive there, but likely wont blow budget too much because I will be too jet lagged to go around spending money on other things that day. Reply to this

Hope this counts! It's of a lake, not a beach. Probably my best shot yet - I'm starting to become very much into photography.

Mell, we fly the day after you! India first, then Nepal and into S.E.A. I'm just as excited. Sophie, as you know, your blogs and Photo's have inspired us regarding our choice of countries for this Asia trip, I'll be sure to place as many gorgeous beach shots on my blog by way of a thankyou! Thanks Karoline :)
They are not my photos though. They are photos I like, by other members. I am not much of a photo taker. Reply to this

No swaying palm trees, but blue sky and the bonus of fish and chips just a few miles away!

I actually struggled to find some pictures of beaches... which is odd as we've been to some incredible beaches... turns out I'm not big photo taker of beaches unless there's either a sunset or something on it!

One of the world's highly rated beaches is Wineglass Bay.
Turks and Caicos has many lovely beaches.
