Cindy, I am so jealous of you on so many levels.

Your past job, awesome. Diving Truk Lagoon, awesome. Crocodile diving, AWESOME!

Truk & Galapagos and the two places I'd like to dive most in the world and now Croc diving is third.

My fav dive was the S S Thistlegorm in Egypt, absolutely amazing. Reply to this

I thought I would revive this old thread to see if any of you have been diving the past few months and have a new location that you would like to add to this list.

I'm hoping we have some new bloggers who will share their diving adventures with us. Reply to this

Hello Chris & Niki
Can only agree with you for the thistlegorm, dived there last week and it was fantastic wreck dives!
On my top list Sipadan, Bunaken, red sea sinai and missali island (tanzania) for corals, Palau & Sipadan for action / huge quantity of marine life and lembeh (indonesia) for marine diversity.

Macro: Mabul, Lembeh and Bunaken.

Big Stuff: Sipadan and Similans

Want to dive: Togian/Togean Islands, Bali, Komodo, and Papua New Guinea (so expensive, but a must, I think?) Reply to this

On the "to do list", Cocos, Malpelo, Rangiora, Fakarava, PNG, Tonga in August (not 2011 or 2012 for sure), few more places in Indonesia including Pulau Weh and Raja Ampatand Komodo, Peninsula Valdez, Fernando de Noronha, Great Barrier Reef, Ningaloo Reef, Malapascua. With a little bit of luck the list should be shorter by end of 2013...

The best dived already so far, Galapagos, Tubbataha (Philippines), Palau (twice), south of Durban (South Africa), Sipadan...

Next dive in 9 days, back in the water with the big guys...

But what beats everything, it's diving with Mari and Leslie! Reply to this

I'm always thinking and planning how to take the next around the world trip. Looks like I should plan two- one around the world dive trip and one around the world land trip.

Peter, do you dive with your own gear or rent? Reply to this

MJ, a RTW diving trip...few months on the road diving the best places...expensive dream, but that would be fun! Never say never...maybe one day...

Well, not for today due to school commitments. But I won't complain too much, think I dive already pretty often.

When on my own, mainly with my gear. As a family, we do a mix own/rent. At the end of the day, it depends on how many dives are planed over a trip. This summer...we are taking our gears with us! Reply to this

Hi Deni and Dax,

How do we say in english, I may be a little "straight" on my definition of a RTW. It does mean that you start in one point and go around the world to finish at the same point. Had the chance to do few of those, but last one was back in 2004.

I may be "lucky" to dive a little "everywhere" on earth, but that doesn't qualify for me as a RTW. But you can call me a snob simply for answering this way.

To be honest, I've stop long time ago to fantasize about RTW. At the end of the day, we want to hit great waters...who cares the way we get there.

Well, I promise, few dive blogs over the next few months, but no RTW on the planing... Reply to this

What locations are on your to do list?

Hello Dave & Merry,

A lot (and the list keep growings after every dive holiday!) but this year I am planning on diving in Sudan (liveaboard), back to Egypt for the Belt/ Blue Hole, Yemen Socotra (if situation gets better there) and Oman.

Then on top of my wish list is Coco Island (back to Costa Rica!) and Papua New Guinea (for this one I am hoping to go for it during my holiday at the end of my current mission...keeping fingers crossed!)

Laetitia,

Our list is long. We live in the US so most of our diving experiences have been in Mexico and the Caribbean. I have done a couple of dives in the Bay Islands of New Zealand, The Great Barrier Reef, Fiji and Rarotonga.

Must do's are Yap, Palau, Papua New Guinea and the Galapagos.
If only time and money fell from trees!!

If we make it to Jordan hopefully we can hook up for dinner.
No decision has been made yet about our fall trip but hope to settle it in the next few weeks.

Keep in touch, keep diving and keep blogging!

My top 5 best diving experiences so far;

1) Komodo Marine Park - lots of diving in and around - 2008

2) Galapagos (got to go back for a Darwin and Wolf liveaboard one day) - 2006

3) Sipidan (plus Mabul, Kapali and surrounding islands) - 2006, 2007

4) Lembeh & Bunaken - so close double up 😊 - 2007, 2011

5) Bali - Tulamben and Nusa Penida - 2008

.... so many amazing dive spots that didn't make the list... Similans / Tenngol / Pualu Weh / Belize (Blue Hole) - all so good - how do you compare? and again some dives have been one-off amazing - working Perhentian Islands every now and then we'd turn up at a dive site with a usual visibility of 5-10m and wow - 30m viz - amazing out of this world dive, the next day.... back to business as usual. Ok-- so for those of you who have gone diving in Belize at the Blue Hole as Ali has--- how do you rate that dive location. I have two different friends who have been to Belize and loved the diving but felt the Blue Hole was over rated and that the boat ride (1 1/2 hours) didn't really feel like the Blue Hole was what they were hoping for.

Ah, you are our hero. Love your life!
I'm not sure who dives more you or Ali? We may need to take a look at log books.

Ali has for sure more dives than me, I'm "only " at 330 over the last 7 years an half....but this summer, diving in my 30th country...and still a pretty serious wish list ahead of me...how do we say, one dive site at a time...one country at a time.

Only regret was that I couldn't dive while in Antartica. They even dive in Greenland, but only in summer I've heard. Reply to this
