We were in the capital San José for two days and we had a little inconveniece too, but the rest of the country is really peaceful and beautiful. Reply to this Sorry to hear your experience. However, I have been to Costa Rica and nothing like that happened to me. During my stay there I had walked at dawn, partied at a local disco where 'we' (just 6 tourist) stood out from the crowd of locals- nothing happened, none of us were robbed. Unfortunately unlucky events like that happens once in awhile whether it is in CR or Toronto, or even your hometown. It's just being at the wrong place at the right time. I wouldn't generalize that unfortunate event about a whole country. There are more good people in this world than what we all think and know. I hope one day you look pass this horrible experience you've had during your stay in CR and give that beautiful country another chance. I bet you it would be unlikely to happen again!
